Upcomming!
End of July brings Otakuthon in Montreal, I had been made the Art Director for it by the convention's founding commitee. My duties will include managing the Gallery in the art section, I will not be able to keep my own table at the convention as it is my first year as Art Director, thus I want to focus to make a good job of that gallery. So Not having a table will permit me a little more time to speak with you attendees.
The first convention that I had attended was C-ACE in 2003, and it was a great experience for my first: Small, good ambiance, well mantained. The code of conduct for this convention was clearly stated on their site and it eased my nervousness very much.
The next convention I had gone to was in the november of that year. I had gone to the lengths of having a couple other aritsts with me to share the table in the dealers' room, or section, whatever. it was profitable, but it wasn't that well organized and I had to get through a few details, but it went rather well. This one was situated in Montreal, the line ups and such were such a pain.
Here is in more detail as I reported my experience
Friday the 15th of November, I got my table and I go tmy set up, if only I had that grahpic novel to sell there, well at least I can tell people about it and I am excited to go about portfolios tomorow.
Day2, a couple confusions, but were dealt with calm order and mature behavior. I had been at my table nearly the whole time in exception to sharing my portfolio with some other artists. Loopy and Amy were able to join me at the artist alley for a good while today, I should spare some time from my table to see what more I have not broused through, but so far, it's a good experience for my second convention. Oh and I have been mentioning "Guardian" to a bunch of people too.
Day3, Sunday. Not so much as well in sales, but still a good day. My fellow artist Amy had much better luck that day herself. It was also an interesting feeling as closing time was nearing, many of the people in our surrounding tables seemed really tired, but I was bursting with energy, going into 'Hyper Kitty'.
To summ up, Good experience to learn from mistakes and also good practiced experience for sales. I do hope that a lot of you who picked up my card is reading this right now, the convention wouldn't be as much fun without you participants. Thanks for a great time.
My experience at Anime North in 2004
Well this was my first time attending that convention, as I had mentioned before, I had spent more money going there than I was about to make. The ticket and such didn't cost THAT much, but it was the hotel that cost me the most. and the Toronto Congress Center, being so far away from the city was not quite practical, it being by THE AIRPORT... I didn't know it was by the airport. the first day and a half were really crummy, then I found some fanboys, that made me happy and that made me some money, so... hurray, I was saved. at that point, that was the furthest I had traveled in my life. But then again, I'm going over to Poland for August of 2004.

My experience at C-ACE.
And so I went again this year and I got some wonderful art trade and good deal of artists got to draw Coon-Kun for me.
I saw a lot of old friends, some new faces and some old friends with new faces.
Hey Frubo, the new suit looks good this year.
One thing that I liked as a new experience was participating in the Iron-Artist competition.
Our secret medium was Lightbright, provided by the ever wonderful Nalina', it was good to see her there too again this year. We asked for a theme and one idiot shouts out "Goth!"

My Lines 101 class went pretty good and I got a lot of good feedback, but I think it was the weapons pannel that was the best, I learned alot about archery.
And also I had taken the opertunity to meet up with my highschool friend, Melanie and it was great to see her again after 4 and a half years, you haevn't changed a bit.
But THE Event was most certainly Loopy's appearance with his Dragon suit. Absolutely Spectacular!
You can check out the site and I recommend this convention cause it is safe and fun.
keep reading, more to come.
